It is time to hold auditions for the Spring Branch Girls Choir. We are excited to begin a new season for the 2022-2023 school year! If you were involved in SBGC last season, please let us know if you plan on joining for next year for planning and communication purposes.
Requirements:
- Student must be enrolled in a Spring Branch ISD School.
- Student must be a 4th-8th grader next year.
- Student must have a recommendation from their classroom/music teacher.
Auditions
Monday, May 16th and Thursday, May 19th from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM at Westwood Elementary – 10595 Hammerly Blvd, Houston, TX 77043

The audition consists of echo clapping, echo singing, evaluation of tonal memory of any song they know well. (It could be “Happy Birthday” or “Are You Sleeping” or even a song you have learned in music class)
Upon your audition, we will send a Teacher Recommendation Form to your classroom teacher.
There will be costs and uniforms for our choir which will be given at a future time.
WE NEVER ALLOW MONEY TO BE THE REASON A CHILD CANNOT PARTICIPATE.

Pizza Theater Practice Tracks – copy

Since we only have 1 hour of rehearsal time per week (and we have spring break approaching), I have uploaded the rehearsal tracks to the songs that we are performing for our Pizza Theater Concert. Please have your daughter only listen to the voice track with her part to solidify notes and rhythms. Once we are more confident in these notes and rhythms, they can challenge themselves by singing with the other tracks.

Please encourage your daughter to practice or at least listen to their practice tracks. If they can spend at least 30 minutes a day listening to their music, they will be better prepared and we can work on more than just the notes and rhythms of the music.
