New Girl Auditions!
“OK. HOW CAN I AUDITION? ”
Auditions will be held on May 20th and 21st between 4:00-6:00 pm at Northbrook MIDDLE school 3030 Rosefield Dr. Houston Texas, 77080.
You must sign up online HERE. Have your parent log on to the website to sign up for a time slot for your audition. Please leave all the information you can (see below) in the comment box. If you cannot use the website, you can call Ms. Snelling and leave a detailed message at Northbrook Middle School on her voice mail at 713-251-4124.
In the phone message, please state:
• student’s name
• school
• grade
• home phone number
• any special needs that concern time.
We are signing up girls on a first contact, first serve basis, so go online today!!! You will receive an e-mail confirming the time.
“HOW CAN I PREPARE FOR THE AUDITION?”
For the audition you should be prepared to:
• sing “America” (My Country ‘tis of Thee)
• sing the round “Brother John” (Are You Sleeping)
• echo sing small melodic phrases
• read text, and vocalize.
It is not a frightening experience and should only last about five minutes. The directors are just trying to be certain of your singing ability.
You also need a completed recommendation form:
• take a blank SBGC recommendation form to your classroom teacher (NOT YOUR MUSIC TEACHER)
• ask them to fill out the form and send the form to Elizabeth Snelling at Northbrook Middle School or email it to her at elizabeth.snelling@springbranchisd.com
